Add Leave Types
To add a leave type for your company, click on the Add Leave Type button in the right corner of the page.
It will open a side panel that allows you to add a new leave type. In this panel, the "Leave Type Name" is the only mandatory field. Some fields, such as the Colours and icons are pre-configured which you can change. Also, for any new leave type, it will automatically use a non-used colour and icon, while other fields are optional to set up.
Add Leave Type Side Panel
For the Basic info section, you can either select a leave type from the available list or enter the name of the leave type you want.
Leave Type Name box
Then you can set a colour and icon to represent your leave type in calendars and reports.
For the second and third sections, you have two options: Track Allowance and Requires Approval.
If the "Track Allowance" option is enabled, you will be able to set a fixed number of days for leave. Which means can set a yearly max limit. For example, like 20 annual leave for a year.
If the "Requires Approval" option is enabled, your new leave type will require manager approval when requesting time off; otherwise, it will automatically approve. For example, Sick leave in UK is auto approved when requested.
.
Next, you will find a section titled "More Options," which is optional for setting up your leave type.
In this section, you can choose to enable or disable the requirement for providing a reason for leave. If it is enabled, employees must give a reason for their leave request. Otherwise, it is not mandatory.
In Privacy otherwise visibility, some leave types can be shown or hidden in the team calendar. Certain employees may have access to special leave types that are not available to everyone. If a leave type is marked as "Private," it will be hidden from other users and can only be viewed by the admin, manager, and the approver. Conversely, if a leave type is marked as "Public," it will be visible to everyone in the team calendar.
Additionally, you have the option to deduct this leave from the leave count of another leave type. Deduction from one leave type implies that if you have any type of leave with allowances, that leave can be deducted from those allowances. For example, study leave can be deducted from annual leave. If you wish to do this, you must select the relevant leave type to reduce its leave count.
Once you have set up your new leave type, simply click the save button at the bottom.
If successful, you will see a success message.
You can now view the details of your Leave Type in the page.
